Virgin Media in association with Disney UK today announced the arrival of a new Phineas and Ferb app for its cutting edge TiVo service. Exclusive to Virgin Media, the new app has been designed to take advantage of the advanced interactive functionality of TiVo and will enable fans to immerse themselves in the world of Phineas and Ferb with an interactive, video-based quiz.
Just like Phineas and Ferb, Virgin Media’s customers can make every day spectacular thanks to the range of apps and games available through the innovative TiVo service. This latest free app will challenge fans to defeat the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz by correctly answering questions based on scenes from the show, past episodes and their general Phineas and Ferb knowledge. There are loads of questions giving the user plenty of chances to play and increase their knowledge at the same time.
The new app will automatically rollout from today in the Apps and Games section on customers’ TiVo boxes. Customers with Disney Channels as part of their subscription will also be able to catch-up with latest episodes of Phineas and Ferb through Virgin Media’s TV on Demand and online Player services, giving them the chance to relive the adventures of Phineas, Ferb and their mysterious pet platypus, Agent P, at their leisure.
Aleks Habdank, director of digital entertainment product at Virgin Media said: “Delivering family favourites like Phineas and Ferb on demand is just the first step towards great digital entertainment – TiVo’s ability to pull in extra content and offer engaging interactive applications ensures Virgin Media customers are uniquely positioned to get the most immersive experience possible from their favourite shows.”
The Phineas and Ferb app, developed by casual games specialist Two Way Media, joins a whole host of apps and games available on Virgin Media's TiVo service covering games, online video, music and news, including BBC iPlayer, YouTube and Spotify. Virgin Media is working with a variety of partners for a range of new apps and next generation interactive services to make the most of the advanced features and connectivity built into the TiVo service.
Disney’s BAFTA-nominated and Emmy-award winning animated comedy series centres around the adventures of Phineas and his English stepbrother Ferb - played by British actor Thomas Sangster - who set out to conquer boredom and make every day of their 104-day summer holiday count. Currently in its third season with a fourth season recently greenlit, the series has gone from strength to strength since premiering in 2008, with nearly one in two kids tuning in on Disney Channel and Disney XD.
